STW: Offsite Collections Maintenance Assistant

The Offsite Storage Facility is an off-campus location that holds a large majority of Atkins Library’s physical materials. The Collections Maintenance unit is in charge of managing the library’s physical collections, and ensuring that materials in those collections are organized and accessible. The work of this unit is key to the library's mission to "advance access to information, lifelong learning, knowledge creation, and innovation" for the UNC Charlotte community specifically, and Greater Charlotte generally.

This position will assist the Offsite Collections Coordinator at the library’s Offsite Storage Facility in Concord, NC. Any skills, programs, or projects outlined in the duties below will include training and no prior work experience is needed.

Primary Job Duties include:

• Sort, shelve, and shift library materials (specifically books and periodicals)
• Perform shelf-reading to ensure library materials are organized and accurate on the shelves
• Assist with scanning materials for Interlibrary Loan document delivery requests
• Provide assistance to the Offsite Collections Coordinator with other tasks and projects as needed
  
  

This position would work flexible hours between 9 AM and 5:30 PM Monday thru Friday. No evenings or weekends. The job is located off-campus in Concord, NC, and is a 15-20 minute drive from UNC Charlotte. The selected candidate will need reliable transportation to report to work each day. 

Ideal applicants will have a strong attention to detail, be highly organized, and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
