Job Description
Summary of Position
A Maintenance Technician II is responsible for performing preventative maintenance and repairing production equipment as required, while working with the other members of the team to complete electrical and mechanical projects.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain production equipment to maximize operating performance and assist with maintaining electrical spare parts' inventory levels
- Perform repairs on equipment to restore them to proper and safe work conditions
- Perform installation, set up, modification and relocation of equipment to accommodate or improve production requirements
- Read/write electrical and electronic schematics/diagrams,basic hydraulic and pneumatic diagrams.
- Test electrical and electronic equipment and components for continuity,current,voltage and resistance?
- Ensure the production schedule is not jeopardized due to machine breakdown, or unsafe operating conditions and inform Maintenance Manager about changes in electric circuits and update original diagrams.
- Always follow LOCK OUT/ TAG OUT procedure on unsafe machines/machines being serviced.
- Adhere to work orders, preventive/predictive maintenance systems by filling in required forms and organize workplace to comply with housekeeping requirements.
- Perform preventative/predictive maintenance to all production equipment as required.
- Complete electrical and mechanical projects based on direction given from MaintenanceSupervisor as required by governmentregulation.
- Demonstrate safe work practices and follow company safety policies, procedures, and regulations
- Initiate and complete all other jobs, projects and special assignments as directed by Maintenance Supervisor
- Maintain compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and recommend measures to improve health and safety.
- Repair and replace electrical/hydraulic/pneumatic and electronic components such as motors, contactors, relays, timers, types of switches, PLCs, light curtains, motorcontrols and valves.
Skills
- Able to read wiring diagrams, electrical/mechanical/pneumatic/hydraulic schematics, andladder/function block logic.
- Working knowledge of industrial PCs and PLCs (Siemens?Step 7, Beckhoff TwinCat, etc.) and electric circuitry consisting of contactors, relays, main?voltage/control?voltage, limit switches and?proximity sensors?
- Excellent?inter-personal?and?communication?skills?

Education and/or Experience
- Minimum 3 years of experience within related role.
Preferred:
- At least 3 years of experience in a fast-paced manufacturing/industrial environment with multiple priorities
- A certificate from technical trade school, Military experience in lieu of or related subject
