Job Description
Full Internship Position: The Undergraduate Admissions Office is responsible for
recruiting and enrolling a diverse student body for the University. This
internship's general duties include timely and accurate processing of information,
internal and external relationship management with key constituencies, and
program assistance admissions-specific events.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with tour operations by conducting check-in for prospective families
visiting the University.
- Assist with Undergraduate Admissions operations by conducting front desk
operations and welcoming guests to the University.
- Assist with Visit Program operations by receiving incoming phone calls and
calling prospective students.
- Assist with material prep and check-in for on-campus events for high
school counselors with prospective students groups.
- Assists with incoming and outgoing mail and transcripts for the office.
- Researches and prepares projects as assigned.
- Articulates the value of a UNC Charlotte education in a variety of forums.
Other similar related responsibilities as assigned or required.
Preferred Skills:
- Ability to work on-campus at the Gage Undergraduate Admissions Center.
- A student in good standing with at least one (1) year of coursework.
- Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to relate to a diverse population.
- Ability to deal with confidential material professionally.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Ability to deal with high stress and fast-paced office environment.
- Ability to convey confidence and manage requests with strong attention to
detail, exceptional guests service skills, problem-solving and critical
thinking.
- Previous phone or switchboard experience.
- Ability to work a structured schedule during the operating hours of 8:00 AM
to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday.
