Job Description

DAVENPORT is looking to fill a Traffic Project Engineer position that will be assigned to our Traffic Team. The prospective candidate would have opportunities to work in both traffic analysis, and signal design. Interested candidates must have a willingness to perform general traffic engineering, traffic impact analyses and transportation-related tasks, supporting various project managers.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collaboration with team members and agencies
  • Performance of transportation engineering analyses, including traffic impact studies, corridor studies, capacity and safety analyses, multi-modal operation studies, traffic simulations, and planning studies
  • Assistance with signal optimization and signal design projects
  • Collection, organization, research, and analysis of project data
  • Preparation of technical documents and reports
  • Performance of site visits and data collection

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering
  • Engineer-In-Training (EIT)/Engineering Intern (EI) certification, Preferred.
  • Desire to work in the traffic engineering and transportation planning field.
  • Ability to work independently and with a team.
  • Detail-oriented, proactive approach to tasks, highly motivated.
  • Strong communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of Synchro, HCS, and CAD
  • Knowledge of other traffic engineering and design software is a plus (ArcGIS, MicroStation)
