Location: Charlotte, NC
Travel: Up to 60%

What You’ll Do

Lead and execute the design, programming, testing, and commissioning of industrial control systems.

Engineer complete automation solutions — from electrical schematics to software — across PLCs, SCADA, DCS, robotics, and instrumentation.

Manage multiple projects simultaneously and drive them from concept through successful delivery.

Program and configure control systems using various platforms and languages (ladder logic, structured text, function block, HMI development, and more).

Provide hands-on support during field start-ups, commissioning, and troubleshooting activities.

Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams and customer stakeholders to deliver reliable, on-time automation solutions.

Stay current with evolving industrial technologies, networking standards, and best practices.

Travel up to 60%, including domestic and occasional international travel.
What You Bring
Must-Haves
-
Practical experience in industrial process control design, commissioning, and troubleshooting.

Working knowledge of PLCs, DCS, VFDs, SCADA systems, industrial networks, and instrumentation.

Ability to deploy and support managed industrial networks and virtualized environments.
-
Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to document and explain technical solutions clearly.
Nice-to-Haves
-
7+ years of experience in industrial automation or controls engineering.
-
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field (or equivalent experience).
-
Experience with Rockwell ControlLogix; exposure to Siemens, ABB, Honeywell, GE, Beckhoff, or similar platforms is a plus.

Familiarity with Ethernet/IP, DeviceNet, ControlNet, and related industrial protocols.

Database experience (MySQL, Oracle, MongoDB) a plus.

Proven success leading onsite startups and project commissioning efforts.
