Project Assignment & Main Goals

As a Software Development Intern, you will work on cutting-edge technology projects that directly impact First Bank's digital infrastructure:

• Create new working API endpoints in First Bank's API Gateway
• Develop and enhance existing API endpoints, including payload optimization, monitoring, and alerting systems
• Improve current bank processes through innovative SDK development
• Implement and deploy changes to First Bank software solutions in production environments

Technical Skills Required

• Programming Languages: Technically fluent in Python, Java, JavaScript, and other modern programming languages
• Web Technologies: Solid working knowledge of current Internet technologies, including Web 3, Web Services, and API REST/JSON
• Database Systems: Experience with Oracle, MySQL, and PostgreSQL
• Development Practices: Understanding of Source Control and DevOps practices
• Problem-Solving: Hands-on software troubleshooting experience

Essential Functions

• Support the technology department with day-to-day development tasks and responsibilities
• Dive into challenging projects that expand understanding of banking technology operations
• Learn the First Bank brand, customer experience philosophy, and commitment to service excellence
• Model exceptional customer service and help others do the same
• Gain exposure to department-specific operations and compliance standards
• Use technology tools to process data and communicate effectively
• Complete required training and uphold all policies, procedures, and regulations
• Show up with integrity, curiosity, and a commitment to service
• Complete required compliance courses and adhere to all corporate policies, Federal and State regulations including the Bank Secrecy Act

Required Qualifications

Education & Experience

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts degree
• Coursework in software engineering, computer science, or related field
• Relevant project work that included developing coded solutions
