Job Description
Blumenthal Arts seeks an Education Fellow! Education Fellows interact directly with the Charlotte community from elementary school through senior populations. Some of the education flagship programs include Junior Theater Celebration, The Blumey Awards, and Emerging Leaders. (Visit www.blumenthalarts.org/education to learn more). All majors are welcome to apply; arts administration and/or events management concentrations encouraged.
Blumenthal Fellowships are designed to offer hands-on learning experiences to college and graduate students considering careers within arts management. Fellows support the implementation and execution of programs and events in our venues and out in the community frequently in tandem with touring Broadway productions. Our desire is to equip students with a robust skillset and provide them with professional experience to carry into their careers. Fellows are asked for a weekly time commitment of 20-30 hours. Pending the needs of individual departments, flexibility in daily or weekly work schedule may be required. Fellows may be required to work evenings and weekends, depending on the needs of the department. This is a paid professional opportunity. Housing is not provided.  Student/graduate will be supervised by Education department. Resources such as parking passes, desk, computer, writing materials, and others will be provided.
Requirements
- Applicants must be current undergraduate or graduate students, or recent graduates within a year of their graduation dates to be considered.
- Reliable transportation to Uptown Charlotte as this is considered an onsite program.
- Applicants are required to submit an application, resume, cover letter and letter of recommendation by the application deadline, Friday, August 21st. Applicants who fail to submit all required documents will not be considered. 
Potential duties may include but are not limited to:
- Assist Program Managers with setting up calls, meetings, appointments and/or collecting student and teacher availability.
- Create rosters, nametags, signage and other relevant materials for various Education programs and events.
- Provide administrative and logistical support for Education as well as assist with on-site event setup and tear-down.
- Collect and document demographic reports for Education events as well as take and organize photos/media as appropriate.
- Responsible for checking in students and maintaining attendance reports for Education programs and events.
- Compiling, synthesizing, and organizing applications or registration materials for various Education programs and events.
- Assistance with travel, paperwork & media submissions for Jimmy Awards nominees.
- Copying, scanning, filing and other administrative duties as assigned.
