Job Description
This is a 6-week program to gain exposure to various departments within GreerWalker at our Charlotte, NC Office.
Job Responsibilities:
- Providing support to the tax department including but not limited to:
- typing and formatting documents
- ensuring adherence to GW standards (language/templates etc)
- conversion of PDF documents to properly formatted Word documents
- scanning documents
- meeting coordination assistance
- Providing support to the assurance department
- Review accounting transactions and consider appropriate application of generally accepted accounting principles.
- Prepare financial statement footnotes (on areas audited) and internal control observations and recommendations.
- Research fundamental issues using online tools.
- Providing support to the forensic & valuation department
- Perform detailed industry and company research related to client engagements, and summarize the key issues to be included in reports and presentations
- Assist in the development of expert reports on damages or other forensic accounting opinions, and written business valuation reports.
- Provide additional support for various special projects as needed to support the goals and objectives of the practice area.
- Perform other duties as needed on engagements and as assigned by supervisory personnel.
Physical requirements consist of but are not limited to:
- Ability to be mobile throughout the workday, including standing and sitting, up and down throughout assembly
- Ability to also sit and/or stand for extended periods of time
- Lifting file boxes, mail, etc. not exceeding 20 lbs
Qualifications:
- Working towards an Associates, Bachelor’s, or Master’s degree in accounting or business management with minimum 3.0 GPA.
- Knowledgeable of the basic principles of accounting preferred.
- Strong technology skills using Microsoft Office 2013 or later (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook at a minimum, more applications, including Adobe, preferred).
- Ability to multi-task and to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work overtime when required
- Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills.
- Team player with a positive “can-do” approach
