ETS's enterprise innovation (EI) work drives the innovation and development of AL capabilities that drive teaching, learning, and workforce technologies that are grounded in research. EI is dedicated to working closely with end-users to uncover real-world needs and co-designing and prototyping solutions to meet those needs. Our staff is made up of learning scientists, AI researchers and engineers, UX designers, and agile product owners.
Interns accepted into the Enterprise Innovation summer program will participate in solution ideation and validation, AI capability and prototype development, iterative user validation, and data-driven solution optimization. We work in agile development teams to apply the best of AI and cognitive science to the design, development, and testing of solutions to meet educator and learner needs. Upon the completion of the program, you'll have the opportunity to present your findings to teams across Global Marketing and Innovation.
Applicants who have an interest and expertise in AI and Machine Learning Engineering would be a great fit for this program.
As an Enterprise Innovation intern, you will:
Develop models, train models, predict outcomes, work with lead scientists or engineers or develop software.
Develop solutions with Large Language Models and build agentic workflows to solve user needs and prototype new capabilities.
Create and give presentations and demos about their projects at the end of the internship period.

Applicants will be notified of selection decisions by March 31st, 2024
Duration 8-weeks remote: June 2nd, 2025 - July 25th, 2025

Education: Currently enrolled in a PhD or Master's degree program (at least second year)
Field of Study: Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field
Skills and Competencies:
Experience building solutions with generative AI and LLMs; knowledge of agentic workflows
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
