Job Description
Position: The Visit Program under the direction of Undergraduate Admissions Office is responsible for delivering campus tour for prospective students. Current Niner Guides, who have completed the semester-long training, are eligible for this paid position which includes campus tours and assisting with other Visit Program-related duties.
Responsibilities:
Assist with Niner Guide operations by greeting and welcoming guests for their campus tours.
Assist with Niner Guide operations by delivering campus tours- in-person and virtually.
Researches and prepares special projects as assigned.
Other similarly related responsibilities as assigned or required.
Preferred Skills:
A student in good standing with at least one (1) year of coursework.
Ability to relate to a diverse population with excellent communication skills.
Ability to deal with confidential material in a professional manner.
Understanding different learning and communication styles.
Ability to deal with high stress and fast-paced office environment.
Willingness to work for at least three, 2.5 hour shifts during weekdays and some Saturdays as available.
Preference will be given to individuals available during tour times below:
Monday- Friday: 9:00-11:00, 11:00-1:00, 2:00-4:00
Saturday: 9:00 am - 1:00 pm
Students with all day availability on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays will receive more hours.
Professional Development Skill Outcomes: Communication, Teamwork, Professionalism, Work Ethic. Tour Guides will work with students from a variety of cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds. Tour Guide will need to be able to modify communication style based on the situation. Tour guide will need to remain professional at all times and be a positive role model for teammates. Tour Guide will need to work effectively as part of a team to meet the goals of the department. Responsibilities may differ on daily basis depending on the needs of the team professionals must be flexible, adaptable and dependable.
