Software Developer Intern

Job Summary

Team Penske is seeking a motivated Software Developer Intern to join our software development team. This is an exciting opportunity for a student or early-career developer to gain hands-on experience working on real-world projects that support our racing operations. The intern will collaborate with experienced engineers, including senior developers with expertise in C#, ASP.NET Blazor, HTML/CSS, SQL, Docker, and CI/CD pipelines.

The role is designed to provide learning opportunities in professional software development practices while contributing to applications that drive performance and innovation across Team Penske.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the design, development, testing, and deployment of software applications under the guidance of senior software engineers.
• Write and maintain clean, efficient, and well-documented code using languages such as C#, HTML/CSS, and SQL.
• Learn to build and test containerized applications using Docker.
• Support the implementation and troubleshooting of CI/CD pipelines to improve development workflows.
• Gain exposure to both Windows and Linux file systems and server-side development practices.
• Participate in code reviews and collaborate with the development team to improve software quality.
• Work with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and help deliver solutions that meet business needs.
• Contribute to technical documentation and team knowledge sharing.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Basic knowledge of at least one programming language (preferably C#, Java, or Python).
• Familiarity with web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and relational databases (e.g., SQL).
• Strong problem-solving ability, attention to detail, and eagerness to learn new technologies.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Interest in motorsports, engineering, or performance-driven industries is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications

• Exposure to version control systems such as Git.
• Coursework or personal projects involving ASP.NET, Blazor, or other web frameworks.
• Familiarity with containerization tools (Docker) or CI/CD concepts.
• Awareness of Agile or Scrum development methodologies.
