Monarch NC, a leading provider of high‑quality, trauma‑informed services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, mental illness, and substance use disorders, is seeking a Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist (LCAS/LCASA) to join our Behavioral Health Urgent Care (BHUC) team serving Concord and Charlotte, North Carolina. Candidates may live in either city.
Work Schedule
- Monday-Friday: 8am-4pm

About the Role
As a Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist in BHUC, you will be on the front line of behavioral health crisis response—providing immediate, compassionate, and clinically sound support to individuals of all ages experiencing urgent mental health and/or substance use needs.
In this role, you will:
- Conduct comprehensive behavioral health and substance use assessments in an urgent care setting
- Complete interviews with individuals and families to evaluate presenting concerns, mental status, risk, and psychosocial history
- Assign accurate diagnoses that guide timely and appropriate interventions
- Provide individual, group, and family therapy using person‑centered, trauma‑informed, and evidence‑based practices
- Deliver crisis assessments, stabilization, and de‑escalation services with a focus on safety and least restrictive levels of care
- Coordinate services and referrals to ensure continuity of care beyond the urgent episode
- Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team dedicated to responsive, high‑quality care

What We’re Looking For
Qualified candidates must have:
- A Master’s degree in a Human Services–related field
- Full or provisional licensure as a Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist (LCAS or LCASA) in good standing with the NC Substance Abuse Professional Practice Board
- At least 1 year of experience working with individuals with mental health and/or substance use diagnoses
- Strong clinical judgment, adaptability, and a desire to work in urgent and crisis‑focused settings
