Job Description
The Niner Finances Peer Ambassador serves as a student leader dedicated to promoting financial literacy and financial well-being across the Charlotte student community. Peer Ambassadors increase awareness of financial wellness resources, engage students through outreach and events, and help build a culture of financial confidence on campus.
Peer Ambassadors will serve as representatives of Niner Finances by connecting with fellow students, campus partners, and student organizations to encourage participation in financial wellness programs and initiatives.
No previous experience in financial literacy education is required. Training, mentorship, and professional development will be provided throughout the fall semester.
Responsibilities
Peer Ambassadors will:
- Promote Niner Finances programs, services, and events to students at campus events, tabling opportunities, and outreach initiatives.
- Complete Intuit training to learn more about financial literacy topics (ahead of live training in January)
- Help to execute the Niner Finances Social Media strategy by creating a combination of educational posts, memes and reels on the Niner Finances Instagram account.
- Participate in other promotional opportunities including writing articles, event planning, etc.
- Participate in team meetings, training and professional development activities
- Complete assigned projects that contribute to the growth and visibility of the financial wellness program.
This position is designed to assist the team during the fall semester in anticipation of becoming a Financial Wellness Coach in the Spring semester. Mandatory training will take place virtually from January 4 - 8th. Training will prepare students to:
- Serve as peer educators.
- Conduct one-on-one peer coaching sessions.
- Facilitate financial literacy presentations.
- Educate students on topics such as paying for school, budgeting, credit, saving, investing, debt management, and financial decision-making.
- Apply coaching and communication techniques in professional settings.
- Contribute to the team in a variety of ways including (but not limited to):
- Tabling
- Social Media
- Writing Articles
- Event planning
- Recruiting volunteers
- And more…
