Job Description
- Regulatory Compliance & BUA Management: Maintain the University’s Built Upon Area (BUA) Treatment Ledger; track impervious surface totals to ensure campus development remains within permitted limits and regulatory requirements.
- Technical Design Review: Serve as the technical liaison/reviewer for capital projects; evaluate external consultant drawings for stormwater, grading, and utility conflicts to ensure alignment with University standards without assuming EOR liability.
- Asset Inventory & Modeling: Manage and update the campus hydraulic model and GIS database for all linear assets, including pipe networks, SCMs, underground vaults, and inlet structures.
- Field Evaluation & Support: Conduct site inspections of existing infrastructure (dams, retaining walls, drainage systems) to identify deficiencies, determine root causes of failure, and recommend systematic engineering solutions.
- Capital Planning & Reporting: Prioritize maintenance and replacement cycles for stormwater assets; prepare cost estimates and technical justifications to support long-term capital budget requests.
- Operational Standards: Establish and update University technical specifications for earthwork, soil compaction, and stabilization to be used by external contractors and internal maintenance teams.
