STW: CoA+A Photography Intern

Full Internship Description: The student will work under the direction of the Director of Communications + External Relations and the Marketing Manager for the College of Arts + Architecture. On a weekly basis, the student will receive assignments from the Director and Manager to photograph and/or informally video arts events presented by the CoA+A and student activities within the College's five departments. The intern will produce images for use in print and on-line. These materials will include brochures, newsletters, posters, invitations, event programs, advertisements, and materials for the college's website and social media. 

Academic Impact: This internship will provide the student with real-world experience in communications and marketing initiatives for an active performing and visual arts entity (the College of Arts + Architecture). The intern will work as a member of a communications team. The intern will use photography skills in many different contexts to produce a wide range of content. The internship offers the chance to practice critical thinking, teamwork, and communications skills. Above all, because of the wide range of creative activities (such as dance, musical concerts, dramatic productions and exhibitions) to be photographed and the challenges of those tasks, the student will gain specialized skills.

Professional Development Skill Outcomes: - Communication - Teamwork - Professionalism, Work Ethic The student will be producing visual content of a wide variety under the mentorship of the Director of Communications. The intern will work with the Director of Communications, the Marketing Manager, and other College faculty and staff to document events and activities in the College. The intern will be expected to work as a fully participating member of the communications team in a professional manner.
