Monarch NC, a trusted provider of trauma‑informed, high‑quality care for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, mental illness, and substance use disorders, is seeking a Certified Alcohol & Drug Counselor (CADC) to join our Child Crisis Team serving Concord, Charlotte, and Kannapolis, North Carolina. Candidates may reside in any of these locations.

 

Work Schedule:

  • Full time position with rotating schedule - primary hours 8am-6pm with one 10am-8pm shift per week
  • **Anticipated Start Date: June 1, 2026.**

 

About the Role

As a Certified Alcohol & Drug Counselor on our Child Crisis team, you will play a critical role in supporting children, adolescents, and families during times of urgent need. You will provide counseling services, psychoeducation, and crisis interventions while working collaboratively with multidisciplinary team members to ensure continuity and quality of care.

 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing substance use counseling, crisis support, and psychoeducation to children and adolescents
  • Serving as a lead contributor to case management and coordination of care
  • Participating in the development, implementation, and ongoing review of person‑centered plans
  • Conducting regular assessments and reassessments aligned with individual goals and needs
  • Monitoring, documenting, and communicating client progress and outcomes
  • Observing and reporting signs and symptoms of alcohol or other drug intoxication or withdrawal and coordinating appropriate care with the treatment team

Qualifications

To be considered, candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (required)
  • Fully Certified Alcohol & Drug Counselor (CADC) in good standing with the North Carolina Addictions Specialist Professional Practice Board
  • At least one year of experience working with adults, children, or adolescents with a mental health diagnosis and/or substance use disorder
