Role Overview/Summary: GreerWalker is actively seeking career minded individuals for entry-level Assurance Associate positions to start in the Fall of 2027. Assurance Associates will work on a wide variety of audit engagements under the supervision of different accounting professionals by performing the following duties.
Role Responsibilities:
- Perform audit procedures on client financial statements, focusing on cash, accounts receivable, inventories, property and equipment, prepaid expenses, accounts payable, accrued expenses, debt, and various income statement accounts.
- Communicate with client personnel to develop an understanding of their accounting processes and internal controls. Identify key internal controls within those processes and conduct walkthroughs to ensure they are in place and operating effectively.
- Review accounting transactions to ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), or other appliable standards.
- Prepare financial statements and footnotes based on areas audited
- Prepare internal control recommendations based on observations and findings during performance of audit procedures.
- Perform other engagement-specific or firm duties as assigned by supervisors.
Job Requirements
Required Qualifications/Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting with minimum 3.0 GPA.
- Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation.
- Excellent project and time management skills to effectively manage work across multiple clients and engagement teams.
- Ability to function in a team-first environment.
- Effective and proactive communicator, both written and verbally.
- Dedication to providing exceptional client service.
- Initiative to take on new roles and tasks.
- Maintain professional behavior demonstrating integrity, dependability, and trustworthiness.
- Commitment to personal development by pursuing professional credentials and seeking opportunities for continuous learning.
- Strong skills with general office software, as well as the ability to learn and apply new software applications required for audit and firm responsibilities.
Preferred Qualifications/Experience
- Master’s Degree in Accounting with minimum 3.0 GPA
- CPA candidate having completed minimum required credit hours preferred
- Foreign language skills (particularly German) a plus
Working Conditions
- Able to work moderate overtime throughout the year with heavier overtime required during certain business cycles.
- Occasional same day travel for work at clients’ offices using a personal vehicle.
- Regularly required to remain in a stationary position; use hands repetitively to operate standard office equipment; and to talk or hear, both in person and by telephone
- Option for hybrid or remote arrangement upon completion of 18 months of employment.
