Job Description
Merrick & Company is seeking a college or graduate school Electrical Engineering student for a paid summer internship for Summer 2025 at our Greenwood Village, CO, Tulsa, OK, or Richmond, VA office. The summer internship has a commitment of approximately mid-May through mid-August 2025.
We will be accepting resumes for this opportunity from approximately September – November 2024. Resumes will be reviewed as they are received. Interviews will take place in the Fall/Winter. Offers will be extended in Winter/Spring. Timeframe subject to change.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
The Merrick Intern Program will provide an undergraduate or graduate student an opportunity to gain technical experience in the field of electrical engineering. Our intern will be exposed to a variety of electrical engineering experiences and tasks including, but not limited to, industrial & facility electrical power, lighting, grounding, fire detection, lightning protection, instrumentation & controls, communication systems, and low to medium voltage power systems.
The position requires the collaboration with other disciplines, ability to interface with clients and contractors, follow schedules and budget commitments, work independently, possess good written and oral communication skills and the ability to problem solve. Must meet expectations for attendance and punctuality.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be currently enrolled and entering junior year or higher of undergraduate degree or currently enrolled in grad school.
- Must be pursuing an engineering degree in Electrical Engineering with an electrical emphasis from an A.B.E.T. accredited university.
- Knowledge of facility electrical and lighting design and/or power system design.
- Client projects for this position require U.S. Citizenship.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Previous internship in Electrical Engineering
- Knowledge of AutoCAD
- Knowledge of Revit
- Knowledge of Bluebeam Revu
- Knowledge of power distribution design software (SKM PowerTools, Easy Power, ETAP)
- Local Candidates preferred
