The intern will be responsible for conducting in-depth research, gathering and organizing documentation, and assisting in compiling required materials for submission. This includes reviewing current policies and procedures, identifying gaps in required documentation, collecting data across key functional areas, and ensuring all materials align with U.S. Chamber accreditation standards.
The scope of work will involve approximately 40 hours of in-person collaboration with Chamber leadership. The intern will assist in organizing files, summarizing information, and preparing content that supports the final accreditation submission. This project requires strong attention to detail, research skills, and the ability to synthesize information into clear, structured documentation.
Through this experience, the intern will gain exposure to nonprofit operations, strategic planning, and national accreditation standards, while contributing to a high-impact organizational initiative.
Learning Experience
Through this project, the student will gain hands-on experience in nonprofit operations, organizational management, and strategic planning. They will develop practical skills in research, data collection, and documentation while working on a real-world accreditation process aligned with national standards.
The student will learn how to evaluate organizational effectiveness by reviewing policies, procedures, and performance metrics across key areas such as governance, membership, finance, and programming. They will also gain experience in identifying gaps, organizing information, and contributing to a formal submission process that requires accuracy, attention to detail, and critical thinking.
Additionally, the student will have the opportunity to work closely with Chamber leadership, gaining insight into how a business organization supports economic development, engages stakeholders, and delivers value to its members. This experience will strengthen their professional communication, time management, and problem-solving skills, while providing a strong foundation in both nonprofit and business-focused environments.
