Job Description

This position offers undergraduate or graduate students a hands-on opportunity to
develop skills in software development, AI, web applications, and automation tools in a university intellectual property and technology transfer environment. Students will help build web-based and AI-enabled tools that streamline ORCP workflows and reduce administrative burden for staff and faculty users.


Responsibilities: The role supports ORCP by designing, building, and maintaining internal tools and dashboards that improve efficiency and operations.


Example responsibilities include:

• Developing user interfaces with HTML/CSS and JavaScript frameworks (e.g., React) for internal ORCP tools.
• Implementing back-end functionality using Python web frameworks or similar (e.g., Flask or Django) and APIs for data-driven workflows and integrations with US and foreign patent offices and government systems (e.g., NIST, NSF, NIH).
• Prototyping automation and AI utilities (e.g., templated communications, simple
assistants, or form workflows) using REST APIs and selected no/low-code Google
platforms.
