Job Description

This position works as part of a team with a technical analyst to plan and implement various IT projects that support the digital operations of several academic affairs units. The graduate student is expected to participate fully in team project planning, including contributing technical expertise and an additional perspective on solutions, at a level appropriate to a graduate-level student. Functional duties may include scripting automation tasks, monitoring and patching application servers, web application development/maintenance, end-user support of department-specific vendor-hosted applications and preparation and operation of specialized equipment for events (video cameras, streaming feeds, mixed audio, etc). Other projects and responsibilities may be assigned based on the candidate’s interest and experience, particularly where it may foster a collaborative spirit and subject matter expertise with the department supported.  

This position requires a knowledge of programming languages (such as PHP, Python or C#), relational databases languages (such as T-SQL or MySQL) and web-content technologies (including HTML, CSS and JavaScript).  An awareness of data security practices and FERPA requirements is also an asset for this position.
