Job Description

The primary responsibility of the Structural Engineer, EI will assist the project engineer and/or project leader in structural analysis and design, drawings and specifications, development of building information models, and construction administration on a variety of projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct structural analysis and calculations for new builds, repairs, and renovations.
  • Review and correct shop drawings and draft construction documents in AutoCAD/Revit.
  • Develop structural models and perform on-site inspections.
  • Prepare inspection reports and assist with technical studies and investigative reports.
  • Collaborate with teams, consultants, contractors, and clients.
  • Support project leaders with drawings, specs, and project layouts.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet quality standards.
  • Attend design coordination meetings and continuously enhance technical skills.
  • Participate in professional organizations to strengthen the firm's reputation.
  • Travel for site visits (up to 10%, including overnight)

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering (structural major).
  • Post graduate degree preferred. 
  • Passed or Registered for the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam (EI) with a desire to become a Professional Engineer. Required
  • Relevant structural internship(s) or experience. 
  • Basic understanding of the architectural, engineering and construction industry, as well as introductory knowledge of code compliance requirements and industry standards. 
  • Knowledge of construction practices, terminology, and materials. 
  • Working knowledge of engineering design and analysis software programs, such as RISA and RAM.
  •  Basic knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit.
