Job Description
The primary responsibility of the Structural Engineer, EI will assist the project engineer and/or project leader in structural analysis and design, drawings and specifications, development of building information models, and construction administration on a variety of projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct structural analysis and calculations for new builds, repairs, and renovations.
- Review and correct shop drawings and draft construction documents in AutoCAD/Revit.
- Develop structural models and perform on-site inspections.
- Prepare inspection reports and assist with technical studies and investigative reports.
- Collaborate with teams, consultants, contractors, and clients.
- Support project leaders with drawings, specs, and project layouts.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet quality standards.
- Attend design coordination meetings and continuously enhance technical skills.
- Participate in professional organizations to strengthen the firm's reputation.
- Travel for site visits (up to 10%, including overnight)
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering (structural major).
- Post graduate degree preferred.
- Passed or Registered for the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam (EI) with a desire to become a Professional Engineer. Required
- Relevant structural internship(s) or experience.
- Basic understanding of the architectural, engineering and construction industry, as well as introductory knowledge of code compliance requirements and industry standards.
- Knowledge of construction practices, terminology, and materials.
- Working knowledge of engineering design and analysis software programs, such as RISA and RAM.
- Basic knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit.
