Job Description
The Research Development and Engagement Office (RDE) is looking for a student with a passion for learning about research across UNC Charlotte. The role will utilize an existing data system to identify areas of expertise/specialties across campus and explore other useful reporting opportunities that can guide connecting and convening teams of researchers for seeking external funding. In addition, the Intern will support the development of Smartsheet's for assessing how activities RDE track to success measures for the team.
Responsibilities:
- Data Analysis and Reporting using an existing platform that shows the research productivity for researchers across campus. Reports will primarily support RDE, but also other units in the Division of Research
- Working with RDE team members and others (end users) across the DR to identify needs that guide how to leverage the system and subsequently produce corresponding reports.
- Design, build, and maintain weekly and monthly performance reports for RDE. Create intuitive visual dashboards (using tools like Smartsheet or Excel) to track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
Qualifications
- Must be a currently enrolled UNC Charlotte graduate student in Data Science, Business Analytics, Computer Science, Public Administration, or a related quantitative field.
- Analytical Mindset: Strong problem-solving abilities with high attention to detail and data accuracy.
- Communication: Ability to communicate technical findings clearly to division research professionals and leadership.
