Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY

The Information Technology Intern will support our in-house IT department in providing technical assistance, maintaining computer systems, and configuring hardware and software. The IT Intern will be responsible for assisting the IT Manager with providing excellent customer service through diagnosing, resolving and problem-solving IT concerns including managing the help desk ticketing system, responding to employees request via phone, email, Team’s or in person assistance. The IT Intern will assist with troubleshooting and resolving technical issues, assist with the implementation of new technologies, and provide training and support to team members.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Provide technical assistance to staff on hardware and software-related issues
  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot computer systems, hardware, and software
  • Assist with setting up technology equipment for new hires including laptops, desktops, desk phones
  • Follow established procedures and processes for computer maintenance
  • Provide training and support to team members on the use of computer systems and software
  • Perform system backups and maintain accurate records
  • Research and recommend solutions for technical problems
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science/ Analytics, or a similar field of study from an accredited college or university
  • Knowledge of computer systems and software
  • Knowledge of network and system security
  • Fundamental understanding of Microsoft Windows 10, Office 365, and Active Directory.
  • Familiarity with hardware and software installation
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Able to learn quickly and adapt to changing technology
