In 2012, SHARE Charlotte began as an online platform through sharecharlotte.org to create a one-stop shop for the Charlotte community to find and connect with local nonprofits. In 2018, our software platform went national as SHARE Good software to generate more SHARE cities. We currently have 8 sites, including our original SHARE Charlotte platform. At SHARE Charlotte, we envision a Charlotte united through good as we help to fight the inequities that exist in our community. We help Power Social Good in Charlotte by connecting volunteers to the nonprofit community, increasing brand awareness for nonprofits, and championing the entire nonprofit community in Mecklenburg County. Website: www.sharecharlotte.org Project Title: SHARE Charlotte Marketing and Nonprofit Support Project Description: Marketing Interns will help SHARE Charlotte identify and implement marketing strategies to increase community engagement and nonprofit partner value. Interns are treated as teammates and will contribute and execute creative ideas in an open and fun team environment. We would like for an intern to help with the following: - Market and Competitive Analysis - Social Media Support - Key audience analysis - Content and branding plan - Promotion Plan - Event support Working Location: Hybrid Responsibilities: Help develop and implement creative ideas for community engagement Support SHARE Charlotte’s social media strategy by helping to develop creative content Support and contribute to creative web content including blogs Conduct nonprofit and community research Create, develop, assemble and deliver promotional materials Assist with on-site marketing events & campaigns Accompany SHARE teammates to community events including media interviews and other appropriate meetings Requirements: Strong verbal and written communication skills Superior data analysis experience Knowledgeable about traditional and digital marketing trends Describe how the student will benefit from participation (learning experience). Students participating in this internship will gain hands-on experience in developing and executing marketing strategies within a mission-driven organization. They will build practical skills in market research, audience analysis, and content creation while learning how to translate data insights into effective campaigns. Through active involvement in social media, branding initiatives, and promotional planning, interns will strengthen their marketing and communication abilities. They will also gain exposure to nonprofit operations and community engagement strategies, helping them understand how marketing can drive social impact. Additionally, students will enhance their professional skills by collaborating with a team, contributing creative ideas, and participating in events and community outreach efforts. This experience will help them develop confidence, adaptability, and a strong portfolio of work that can be applied to future careers in marketing, communications, or the nonprofit sector.

Learning Experience
Students participating in this internship will gain hands-on experience developing and executing marketing strategies within a mission-driven organization. They will build practical skills in market research, competitive and audience analysis, and content creation—learning how to turn insights into effective, real-world campaigns. Through active involvement in social media, branding, and promotional planning, interns will strengthen both their creative and analytical marketing abilities. They will also gain valuable exposure to nonprofit operations and community engagement, deepening their understanding of how marketing can drive meaningful social impact.
