Responsibilities
The primary purpose of the Graduate Internship is to provide an intern with relevant field experiences in their chosen field of study. One or more mentors will be assigned to the intern to provide instruction, guidance and to assess performance. The intern is responsible for observing the functions and processes of the assigned work unit. In addition, the intern may be given selected work assignments to reinforce the learning experience, to assess the performance levels and to provide benefit to the work unit. The intern will be responsible for completing all internship-related assignments and reports for both Mayo and the participating educational facility. The duration and timing of the internship will be arranged with the intern.
This position will support Education Research.

Letter of Support from the applicant's primary academic advisor on university letterhead, confirming the applicant's enrollment and good academic standing. The letter should also speak to the applicant's ability to meet the qualifications of the internship and describe how the experience will strengthen the applicant's program of study.
This internship will be approximately 12 weeks.
This position is 100% remote work; can work from anywhere in the United States.
Qualifications
Candidates must be currently enrolled in a graduate degree program (master's or doctoral level) at an accredited university in the United States. A minimum GPA of 3.6 is required. Applicants must demonstrate strong training or applied experience in research methods, with evidence of competence in quantitative analysis, qualitative analysis, and/or mixed methods research. Candidates should have completed graduate-level coursework and/or substantial research experience in one or more of the following fields: education, psychology, sociology, statistics/biostatistics, public health, data science, health sciences, or other social and behavioral sciences. Applicants must provide documented evidence of methodological competence, which may include peer-reviewed publications, conference presentations, research reports, methodological training, teaching or instructional experience in research methods, or strong letters of recommendation attesting to analytical skills. Candidates must be able to commit 15-20 hours per week to research activities, maintain a consistent weekly work schedule, and demonstrate excellent academic writing and professional communication skills.
Highly competitive candidates will demonstrate one or more of the following:

Advanced expertise in quantitative, qualitative, or mixed methods research

Experience conducting independent or collaborative research projects, including data collection, data management, and analysis

Proficiency with relevant research and analytic software, such as R, Stata, SPSS, Python, SQL, Excel, Qualtrics, MAXQDA, NVivo, or Dedoose

Scholarly productivity, including conference presentations, manuscripts in preparation or under review, or peer-reviewed publications

Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative research team
Must have authorization to work and remain in the United States, without necessity for Mayo Clinic sponsorship now, or in the future (for example, be a U.S. citizen, national, or permanent resident, refugee or asylee).
**Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. Also, Mayo Clinic DOES NOT participate in the F-1 STEM OPT extension program.
