The Role:
Our site in Aurora, IL is seeking an EHS Co-Op to join our team for the Fall 2026 season. This assignment is intended to be 6 months in duration, beginning in June through December.
We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated EHS Co-Op to join our Environmental, Health & Safety team. This role will provide hands-on experience supporting key safety and compliance initiatives while contributing to our organization’s overall safety culture. The co-op will assist with ongoing projects, audits, and employee engagement activities tied to our defined EHS objectives.
What You’ll Do:
- Support the implementation and continuous improvement of EHS programs, focusing on:
- Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures
- Machine guarding initiatives
- Ergonomic risk assessments and improvements
- Job Safety Analyses (JSAs)
- ISO 14001 (Environmental Management) and ISO 45001 (Occupational Health & Safety Management) systems
- Assist in conducting audits, inspections, and gap analyses related to the above objectives.
- Participate in EHS training development and employee engagement initiatives to promote a strong safety culture.
- Collect, analyze, and present EHS data to support performance metrics and reporting.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Provide general support to the EHS department as assigned.

- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Strong attention to detail, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Desired Major(s) & Graduation Year:
Environmental, Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field. Graduating in December 2026 or later.
Eligibility
- Must be a currently enrolled student
- Available to work 40 hours a week, M-F (8a-5p) beginning in mid-June through December 2026.
- Must be familiar with the universities requirements to participate in a co-op program
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to perform work both in an office setting and in operating plant areas as well as R&D Labs.
