Monarch NC, a trusted provider of trauma-informed care for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, mental illness, and substance use disorders, is seeking a Substance Use Recovery Counselor to join our Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) team in Greensboro, North Carolina.
What You’ll Do
As a Substance Use Recovery Counselor, you’ll play a key role in helping individuals strengthen their independence and community integration. You’ll provide:
- Individual and group supportive counseling
- Monitoring of symptoms and medications
- Assistance in developing natural support networks
- Linkage to community services, agencies, and resources
- Support for building skills needed for independent living
- Daily assessment of individual needs and progress
- Guidance for families and caregivers
You’ll work collaboratively to help individuals navigate challenges and build the tools they need to live, learn, work, and thrive in their communities.
Who We’re Looking For
To qualify, candidates must be:
- A Qualified Professional (as defined by 10A NCAC 27G .0104), with one of the following:
- Bachelor’s degree (non-Human Services) + 4 years of experience with the population served
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree (Human Services) + 2 years of experience
- Master’s degree (Human Services) + 1 year of experience
Additional Requirements:
- Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist (CADC, LCAS-A or LCAS)
- At least 1 year of experience working with adults with mental health and/or substance use disorders
- Experience in employment services or vocational field training is preferred
