Job Description

The Financial Planning Summer Intern will support the Advanced Planning Team, a centralized group of financial planners serving advisors and clients. This role is designed for students interested in financial planning, wealth management, or accounting who want hands-on exposure to financial planning and tax concepts. The intern will assist with analysis, research, and plan preparation while learning how comprehensive financial advice is delivered.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in preparing components of financial plans for prospective and existing clients, including retirement projections, cash flow analysis, Social Security estimates, education funding, and basic tax planning scenarios

  • Support senior planners by gathering client data, running planning software reports, and organizing plan deliverables

  • Use financial planning tools (e.g., eMoney, MoneyGuide, Holistiplan, Social Security tools) under supervision to generate projections and summaries

  • Conduct research on financial planning and tax-related topics and summarize findings for the planning team

  • Help review financial plans and presentations for accuracy, clarity, and completeness

  • Participate in team meetings and observe advisor and client interactions to gain exposure to the planning process

  • Assist in developing educational materials and internal resources for advisors and clients

  • Collaborate with team members across Wealth Solutions on assigned projects

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Financial Planning, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field

  • Interest in financial planning, wealth management, and tax concepts.

  • CFP® or CPA track is strongly preferred

Skills:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills

  • Ability to learn new tools and concepts quickly

  • Clear written and verbal communication skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

  • Professional, ethical mindset and eagerness to learn in a team environment

Internship Details:
Hourly wage: $17.00 per hour
Duration: June 8, 2026- August 14, 2026
