Job Description

JOB SUMMARY:  Development of engineering design data within budget in accordance with FAA, customer and ZIM Aircraft Cabin Solutions (ZACS) standards of  quality.  

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

1. Provide technical support and guidance to engineering personnel of various disciplines for engineering programs in which ZACS is involved.  

2. Assist with the development of ZACS statements of work from limited customer provided specification information and aircraft surveys.

3. Research and review engineering data (drawings, reports, manuals, etc.) defining aircraft structure or systems in support of design work.

4. Develop and produce design data required for the proper manufacture, assembly and installation of aircraft modifications and components.

5. Develop preliminary engineering analysis necessary to substantiate aircraft modifications.

6. Interface with other ZACS departments to ensure customer & ZACS requirements are met.

7. Attend various design review meetings.

8. Provide technical support to ZACS manufacturing during the manufacturing and installation phases of ZACS developed designs.

9. Provide support during installation of modifications at remote locations.

10. Support other Engineering groups as workload requirements dictate.

11. Provide input and suggestions for continuous improvement of various department procedures, controls, flows and systems, and become familiar with ZACS internal policies and procedures.

12. Must be able to work on complex design tasks with assistance.


SECONDARY DUTIES:  Perform other duties as assigned  

ACCOUNTABILITIES: Accountable to the Engineering Program Manager  

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
MINIMUM:

1. BS Degree in Engineering or related scientific field, or equivalent combination of experience and coursework.

2. Minimum one (1) years experience utilizing Solidworks (or comparable CAD program) with demonstrable proficiency.

3. Must possess knowledge of engineering principles used in stress analysis, finite element modeling (FEM), 3D-computer modeling, and other analytical substantiation techniques. 

4. Must possess extensive knowledge of personal computer systems with Microsoft Office. 5. Must possess good oral, written, and organizational skills, and be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language.
