Job Description
The Career Center provides career education to all undergraduate and graduate students at UNC Charlotte. My position specifically manages faculty and staff engagement across campus.
The Project
The Assessment and Data Coordinator for Faculty & Staff Engagement supports the Career Center by collecting, analyzing, and reporting data that measures the reach, effectiveness, and impact of the Career Center's faculty and staff engagement initiatives. This role manages participation records, evaluates engagement trends, and develops dashboards in Tableau that inform program planning and improvement. The coordinator partners closely with the Program Manager to assess workshops, collaborations, classroom engagements, and resource usage, ensuring decisions are data-driven and aligned with institutional goals. By transforming data into actionable insights, the coordinator strengthens the Career Center’s ability to expand engagement, enhance faculty partnerships, and ultimately improve student career readiness outcomes.
Learning Experience
A graduate student serving in this role would gain valuable professional experience with clear benefits that translate across higher education, nonprofit, corporate, and analytics-driven environments. The role strengthens their abilities in program assessment, data analysis, stakeholder engagement, project coordination, and strategic communication—all highly marketable skills. They would gain hands-on experience interpreting real engagement and outcome data, preparing reports for leadership, and helping shape decisions that affect institutional programming. By working directly with Career Center leadership, the student would build a strong professional network and deepen their understanding of organizational operations, collaboration, and change management. Ultimately, this position equips a graduate student with a competitive blend of analytical, administrative, and interpersonal skills that prepare them for roles in higher education administration, institutional research, program management, consulting, HR, or any data-informed professional environment.
