Job Description

Purpose/Summary

Support Quality Engineering projects and helping to assist on supporting sustaining of base business.  One main project will be assigned while supporting cost reduction and sustaining base business projects.

 

Potential projects can range from validation of manufacturing processes and test methods to statistical analysis of trend data and nonconformances.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

 

Major Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing new approaches to solve problems identified during manufacturing and/or quality assurance processes
  • Produce and/or evaluate fixture design
  • Support Product/process assessment, CAPA, validations and continuous improvement activities
  • Create, revise and update quality related documents
  • Apply statistical process control (SPC) methods for analyzing data to evaluate current process and process changes
  • Assist Quality Engineers with investigations for nonconformance and complaints as needed
  • Assist with validations including authoring of protocols, reports, execution of protocols, training personnel, and data analysis for medical device and bioscience products.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Current college student at a sophomore level or above pursuing a degree in Biomedical, Mechanical, Electrical, or Computer Engineering.
  • Enrolled within a co-op / internship within an approved school program.
  • Required 2.5 or Greater

 

Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Capable to work with small quantities of solvents, adhesives and other chemicals requiring use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required.
  • Must be able to perform quality checks using gauges, micrometers, calipers and other test and measurement equipment.
  • Always maintain a safe and clean work environment in accordance with the current OSHA and GMP.
  • Familiarity with statistical methods a plus.
  • Demonstrated excellence in technical writing skills as well as oral communication.
  • Demonstrated excellence in attention to detail.
  • Work with minimal supervision both independently and as a member of a team.
  • Experience or possess the desire to gain experience in a fast-paced manufacturing and product development / enhancement environment.
  • Willingness to learn “hands-on” about various manufacturing processes and to work in a manufacturing environment including clean rooms and test labs.
  • Basic computer writing skills for data entry and report creation related to PWO’s, validations and prototype runs.
  • Intermediate knowledge of spreadsheet, word processing, email, and Minitab.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English.
