Job Description
Primary Purpose of the Position
The Faculty & Staff Support Graduate Assistant is responsible for working with the Senior Associate Director and Program Manager for faculty and staff engagement at UNC Charlotte. This is a learning opportunity in which the GA can expect to gain hands-on experience working with faculty, staff (primarily academic advisors), doing research and exploration, and assisting with team projects.
Essential Job Duties/Responsibilities
Research:
- Explore development and training opportunities
- Research faculty and staff partners for future collaborations
Faculty/Staff Communication:
- Assist in the development of monthly faculty and staff newsletters
Data Exploration:
- Gather data as it related to faculty/staff engagement
- Communicate with faculty/staff on their data requests
Event Planning:
- Collaborate with the Senior Associate Director and Program Manager in their semesterly events
- Participate and support events: organization, set up, management, clean up
Website Development:
- Assist in website development for faculty and staff in order to provide easily accessible resources
- Consider website design, layout, content, and user experience of website
Education Requirements:
Current student in a master’s or doctoral level program at UNC Charlotte. First-year graduate students preferred.
Experience:
Knowledge of research, data, event planning, website management a plus. MUST have experience and knowledge of technology such as Google Suite, Microsoft Office Suite, Canva, internet research, etc.
Special Note:
MUST have excellent verbal/written communication skills, detail oriented, flexibility, reliability and willingness to learn.
Term of Appointment and Stipend:
Start date – August 2025
20 hours/week; 2-year commitment preferred
