Job Description
FYTP provides a number of programs for new-to-Charlotte students that facilitate a successful transition to the university (UTOP, FIT, Learning Communities). We also provide a welcoming space for all students, and opportunities for leadership development by training returning students to act as peer mentors for our programs..
The Project
The Event Planning Intern will assist FYTP staff in planning and support for various events. Specifically, they will 1) work with FYTP staff to create checklists and logic models to assist in such planning and 2) assist with execution to the full extent time allows. Tasks may include interviewing FYTP staff about procedures, contacting vendors for quotes, making space reservations, organizing sign-in materials, creating outreach/publicity materials, and related duties as assigned.
Learning Experience
The Event Planning Intern will learn about the steps needed to plan, publicize, and execute a complex event in the context of a large organization. See “Outcomes” for more.
