Job Description

WXII/WCWG-TV, the NBC & CW affiliates in Winston-Salem, North Carolina are looking for an IT Specialist to join our stations. You will help oversee the IT operations at our stations and work with a collaborative team in a fast-paced environment. The IT Specialist performs daily maintenance on computers, virtual systems, network infrastructure, printers and provides user support.

Responsibilities

  • Support user needs across all departments, including News, Creative Services, Sales, and Administration
  • Maintain imaging machines, updating firmware and managing hardware inventory.
  • Systems upgrades and new platform deployments.
  • Provide technical guidance to end-users and mobile device support.
  • Maintain LAN/IT infrastructure, installation and support of network hardware and software.
  • Analyze and implement corporate data back-up, disaster recovery and security procedure.

Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of managed network switches and architecture concepts
  • VMWare, Cisco, or Microsoft certifications preferred.
  • Prior experience with a large user base
  • Experience in the television broadcast setting preferred.
  • Experience with networked, stand-alone printers and digital copiers.
  • Enterprise and web-based applications
  • VPN, Cisco equipment, TCP/IP and subnets, NAS, LAN Management
  • Communications skills and customer-service attitude
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Windows desktop and server operating systems
  • Higher education in technology, SBE certification or related military experience will be considered.
