Job Description
The English for STEM program is designed to strengthen students’ English communication skills through STEM-focused contexts. This innovative course emphasizes communication strategies essential for success in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics fields. To reflect the evolving nature of STEM industries, this year’s course also features a Digital Transformation component, preparing students to navigate modern, tech-driven workplaces.
Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and innovative lessons focused on STEM vocabulary, English communication skills, and pronunciation.
- Incorporate experiential STEM activities to reinforce language learning.
- Guide students in the practice of essential communication tasks such as:
- Expressing opinions; agreeing/disagreeing
- Describing problems
- Explaining features and functions of objects, gadgets, technology
- Incorporate digital transformation concepts into the above three responsibilities, including:
- Vocabulary & discussion around AI, IoT, cloud computing, and data analytics
- Communication practice related to digital workflows, automation, and remote collaboration
- Group discussions on how digital transformation affects communication, decision-making, and innovation in STEM fields.
- Provide constructive feedback to support student growth in English proficiency.
