Job Description
Responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and security of the organization's network infrastructure, including LAN/WAN systems, firewalls, and connectivity solutions. This role ensures reliable performance, system availability, and protection of company data through proactive monitoring, troubleshooting, and implementation of best practices. Also responsible for administration and support of Microsoft 365 services and delivering cybersecurity awareness training to promote a secure and compliant user.

Skills and Requirements
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:
• Sets up, configures and supports internal and/or external company networks.
• Support network/VPN tunnels with associated vendors or suppliers
• Maintain the reliable connection of handheld scanners, desktops, laptops, and other data input points.
• Maintain the reliable use of all wired and wireless network technologies pertaining to office support staff, to include but not limited to laptops, desktops, VOIP phones, company issued cell phones and printers. Maintain the reliability of all wired and wireless network technologies terminating at the IT/OT equipment transition.
• Maintain all network resources, to include but not limited to LAN and WAN networks, network data storage, server network uptime reliability, firewalls, VPN and end point security updates, Assist and oversee server, OS updates, and all server hardware firmware needs.
• Evaluate network security needs to limit the loss of company data via accidental or malicious intent. Provide solutions to counter threats internal and external.
• Enhance user security knowledge via continued cyber security training.
• Evaluate and recommend new detection tools to catch and eliminate security threats.
• Assist in management of air gapped backups, onsite and cloud backups
• Develop ideas to create a better and more stable network and brings them to the IT Leadership.
• Daily support of users as required through service requests.
• Vendor liaison for hardware replacements and/or maintenance. Updates documentation to record new equipment, new sites, and changes to computer and system configurations.
• Maintain network maps for both virtual and physical layouts.
Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree (BA, BS) from four-year college or university; or three to five years related experience and/or training; Two-year associate degree in a networking or security field with one to two years of related field experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Technical Skills:
Extensive knowledge of end point protection tools, Cisco, and Fortinet devices, M365, Nutanix, Hyper-V, Hybrid Windows Active Directory experience, and Linux server experience. Working knowledge of Windows based DNS, DHCP, WWW, FTP, SSL, Group Policies, AD users, distribution groups, and security groups. Working knowledge of wifi and wired networks (LAN) and wide area networks (WAN) infrastructures including but not limited to network interface cards, routers, firewall, switches, VPN, and associated software solutions. Certificates and Licenses:
No certifications are required, but Fortinet Network Security, Cisco Certified Network, CompTIA Network+, MTA, Hyper Converge (Nutanix) Microsoft and Office Suite certifications are a plus.
