Organization Profile
WSIC and Lake Norman Woman Magazine are two cornerstones of local media in the Lake Norman area. WSIC is a dynamic media organization producing over 35 hours of live, local programming each week, including coverage of the Carolina Panthers, Charlotte FC, NASCAR, and UNCC Charlotte football. Additionally, we offer digital advertising solutions with programmatic ads that reach audiences across Lake Norman and beyond.

Lake Norman Woman Magazine, with over 20 years in the area, is a trusted monthly publication and podcast that highlights the stories of real women living in the Lake Norman region. Together, WSIC and Lake Norman Woman provide a comprehensive platform for storytelling, community engagement, and local business promotion.

Internship Description
We are seeking an enthusiastic and creative intern to join our team. This internship will focus on:

  • Social Media Management: Creating, scheduling, and analyzing social media posts for both WSIC and Lake Norman Woman Magazine.
  • Social Media Video Production: Assisting with filming and editing short-form video content for platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok.
  • Video and Promo Editing: Creating social media clips from live shows and editing videos and promotional content.
  • Live Event Assistance: Supporting the team during live events, including setup, promotion, and coverage for WSIC and Lake Norman Woman Magazine.

Being on-site allows interns to gain hands-on experience with live production equipment, team collaboration, and direct involvement in local events.

Preferred Student Demographic and Qualifications
We are looking for a current student majoring in Communications, Media Production, or a related field. Ideal candidates are those who:

  • Have a passion for social media management, video production, and content creation.
  • Are eager to explore live production and promotions.
  • Have a strong work ethic, creative mindset, and willingness to learn.
  • Possess basic video editing and social media skills (preferred, but not required).
