Internship Program
Job Purpose
DAVENPORT provides a supervised (compensated) internship program dedicated for work-related experience correlated to an academic discipline and is sponsored, evaluated, and graded by a high school and University faculty member. DAVENPORT provides internship program in Transportation - Traffic & Civil Design engineering, Environmental consulting, Marketing, Accounting and HR departments.
We are looking for a dynamic, energetic interns who are eager to learn about our company by assisting various departments. You will be working closely with our team to conduct research, capture data and attend meetings. To be successful as an Intern, you should be willing to help with any tasks assigned by a supervisor. You will be involved in upcoming projects as well as assisting with current campaigns.
Duties and Responsibilities
Fulfill tasks set out by supervisors from several departments.
- Attend meetings and take minutes.
- Perform research at a supervisor's request.
- Perform Administrative duties
- Learn the responsibilities of an engineer including;
- Design
- Analysis
- Software management
- Incorporate academic knowledge into hands on work.
Qualifications
High school or college student
- MS Office knowledge, especially with Excel, Word, and Outlook
- NC Driver’s License is required.
Demonstrated Abilities
Eager to learn and work with various departments in the company
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Ability to multitask
Physical Requirements
- Frequently required to sit, talk and hear.
- Frequently required to walk, use hands to type data, operate business machines, dial the telephone and reach with hands and arms.
- Frequently lift and/or move 5-10 lbs. and occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 lbs.
- Specific visions abilities required for this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
