The Program Director for TRIO provides leadership, vision, and compliance for the TRIO Student Support Services program at UNC Charlotte. The Program Director provides strategic leadership and administrative oversight for the federally funded TRIO-SSS program, ensuring strict fiscal and regulatory compliance with EDGAR and GEPA standards. This role is responsible for the dual mission of managing a complex federal grant—including budget reconciliation via Banner Finance and the authorship of the Annual Performance Report—while driving institutional student success through campus-wide collaborations and the TRIO Council. The Director oversees the entire participant lifecycle, from high-level data governance and recruitment via Slate to providing secondary academic advising and intervention through EAB Navigate. Additionally, the position holds full supervisory authority over the Project Coordinator and student staff, establishing the annual goals and operational framework necessary to meet the university’s retention and graduation mandates for first-generation and low-income students.
