  • Guide students in exploring academic options and selecting courses prior to enrollment to support a seamless transition into upper-division coursework within their intended major.
  • Support students in navigating academic policies and processes, including change of major requirements and institutional expectations after transfer.
  • Provide supplemental advising support to enrolled students with transfer credit, including guidance on the academic petition process for credit reevaluation.
  • Support transition for newly enrolled students by connecting them to appropriate campus resources and services.
  • Provide advising that is responsive to the needs of adult learners, including students balancing work, family responsibilities, and returning to college after time away.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of advising interactions in accordance with university policies and best practices.
  • Coordinate and deliver programming, workshops, and presentations that support transfer and adult student transition and success.
  • Participate in outreach efforts, including community college visits, campus events, and virtual engagement opportunities.

  • Contribute to initiatives that support community building and persistence among transfer and adult students.
  • Lead or co-lead departmental and university initiatives related to transfer, adult learner success, and pathway development.
  • Serve as a liaison to designated campus partners and/or external institutions (e.g., community colleges) to support transfer pathways and reduce credit loss.
  • Coordinate components of transfer and/or adult student initiatives that require collaboration across units, including pathway development, transition programming, and joint outreach efforts.
  • Serve on committees or working groups and contribute to the development and implementation of strategies that support student success.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development and contribute to the professional learning of the advising team through sharing of best practices, resources, or training.
