Job Description

The Office of Accessibility and Accommodation (OAA, formerly Disability Services) is a busy student academic services office. Our team works to ensure that students with disabilities have access to education and campus life at the University.

The Undergraduate Office Associate will assist with Front Office duties, including:

  • Answering main departmental phone line
  • Scheduling appointments with a calendar scheduling system
  • Checking students in for appointments
  • Scanning and emailing documents
  • Checking mail and fax machine and filing documents
  • Greeting and assisting walk-ins
  • Monitoring the departmental email inbox to assist with general inquiries and appointments
  • Other duties as assigned

The Undergraduate Office Associate will also assist with the OAA Test Center, including:

  • Returning tests and maintaining test security throughout the semester
  • Assisting during the final exam period (required)
  • Maintaining a neat and orderly space, including workstations, the lobby, the Test Center, and copier rooms
  • Other duties as assigned

The position is in-person and not suitable for remote work.

Skills/Knowledge Needed: High level of attention to detail, as services fall under many Federal and State legal requirements. Strong customer service skills, professional phone skills, strong organizational skills, strong communication skills (written and verbal), ability to work as a team as well as independently is necessary. Experience with MS Office (including Excel), Gmail, Google Docs, and Google apps. Some understanding of copier machines, printers, and fax machines is necessary. Must be comfortable with and respectful of diversity and comfortable with animals, as service dogs are occasionally in the office.

Services provided through the Office of Accessibility and Accommodation are protected by FERPA, and students with disabilities have a right to privacy under FERPA. Training will be provided, initially through shadowing.

All levels are welcome (Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, Senior). Preference is given to those who have previous experience working on campus for the university.
