Job Description
UNC Charlotte
The Internship
Overall Duties include, but are not limited to the following:
Creating marketing materials (e.g., weekly emails, annual publication, advertising for events, videos, etc.) to further develop the Honors College brand and maintain the public face of the Honors College
o Identifying potential members to highlight
o Interviewing those members
o Creating stories about membership to feature on different platforms
Managing social media accounts: Honors College Instagram, Honors College Facebook, Honors College X (formerly known as Twitter)
o Increasing followers on all social media accounts
o Establishing a consistent presence on social media accounts by posting regularly about students, events, or articles related to honors education or student life
Preparing items for All-Honors Awards & Graduation Ceremony
o Create awards and recognitions for members
o Generate the event program
o Produce the slide presentation with all students’ information
Working with honors students, especially in disciplinary honors programs, to learn how the Honors College can better serve them (possibly using focus groups)
Conducting data analysis of membership and drafting reports
Support all Honors College staff as needed and as directed
Learning Experience
Learning new software, creating marketing materials, drafting articles/stories. Working closely with the members of the Honors College team.
