Chess Instructor

Ramana Learning Center is seeking a passionate and results-driven individual to join our team as a Part-Time Chess Instructor (15–20 hours per week). This position will be based on-site at our learning center branches and will play a key role in delivering engaging, high-quality chess programs for our students.

Responsibilities

• Provide effective classroom management and foster a supportive, enjoyable learning environment.

• Develop criteria for selecting students to participate in competitive chess events.

• Supervise and guide students during chess activities and practice sessions.

• Maintain a structured and organized instructional setting.

• Promote positive student interactions and encourage teamwork.

• Create an interactive and welcoming classroom dynamic that makes learning chess fun.

• Apply positive behavior management strategies and proven teaching techniques.

Requirements

• Minimum of one year of chess teaching experience.

• Strong ability to connect with children and make chess engaging.

• Solid understanding of basic chess rules, strategies, and endgames.

• USCF rating preferred, but not required.

• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.

• High emotional intelligence and a problem-solving mindset.
