Job Description

For immediate hire - Position will be open until filled. The start date is somewhat flexible but we prefer to have someone in place starting May 13th. We are aiming to fill this virtual internship as soon as possible and encourage you to submit your materials ASAP if interested.

Social Enterprise Alliance (SEA), a nonprofit social enterprise supporting the social enterprise ecosystem in the United States, is looking for a summer intern to work part time for a period of approximately three months, starting mid-May through August. This role would be approximately 10-15 hours a week, remote, and with a flexible schedule. We welcome applications from students working for academic credit or non-students at $15/hour.

 Core responsibilities:

 Member Services:

  • Support SEA members with common questions and processes, following templates and prompts set up by SEA’s Community Manager (who will be on maternity leave during the summer of 2024).
  • Monitor main SEA inbox and redirect email inquiries to appropriate board members for review and follow up.

Board Support:

  • Support SEA board members with various administrative and project management tasks, mainly via joining Committee calls and following up as appropriate on various Committee tasks.

Marketing & Communications:

  • Assist with various marketing and communications needs, for external and internal comms. This may include drafting or editing content, scheduling content to be sent to members and various other audiences, etc.

Programs & Events:

  • Assist with management of online and in person events, notably their planning, scheduling, invite preparation, and logistics coordination.
  • Light vendor management, as needed.

Sponsorships:

  • Assist in research of prospective mission-aligned sponsors for SEA events, including material development, outreach, and supporting board members with sponsor cultivation.

Other:

  • Assist with various miscellaneous tasks to support SEA Board of Directors, as assigned by Board leadership.

Requirements:

  • Strong communications and writing skills 
  • Experience with online platforms, including Canva and Eventbrite, is a plus
  • Customer service experience
  • Project management skills
  • Detail oriented
  • US based - any US time zone (most of the Board is on Central or Eastern)
  • Must have a computer and access to wifi - this internship is remote and no equipment will be provided

Ideal candidate:

  • Flexible, responsive, quick on their feet and a quick learner
  • Available during business hours and some odd (i.e. extra) summer hours, particularly around events, as needed 
  • Disciplined and detail-oriented 
  • Curious and eager to learn 
  • Problem solver
  • Not shy if needs help or direction :)
