Hi Niners!

We are in immediate need of a few wonderful swim instructors at OWA Swim School. We are located within Open Water Adventures, a full service scuba and swim facility located near the Charlotte Motor Speedway (SUPER close to UNCC). Year-round swim lessons take place in our indoor heated pool (4ft, 6ft and 15ft). There are nice locker rooms, a parent waiting room too and scuba dive shop.

We train in-house. You will need to be a good swimmer to begin with and be willing to get lifeguard certified (if you aren't already).  Minimum desired strokes are freestyle, backstroke and breaststroke along with treading in deep water and diving from the side.  Butterfly stroke is a definite bonus!  Not a deal breaker if you're just a really good comfortable swimmer but no technique- we can help you!

Swim classes are perpetual and ongoing, they are not session based. Our lessons are for babies all the way to adults, all ages, all skills. Hours vary- some instructors only teach once/week, others many days/week, usually not more than 4 hours at a time. Mostly evenings and Saturdays (no Sundays ever) but some weekday mornings available too.  All major holidays off!

We'd love to have people who can stick around for a while, our students get pretty attached to their instructors. Its a lot of training at the beginning but once you're in, its a pretty sweet part time thing that can last for years if you like. In other words, if you can only work until this April, this job may not for you. But if you think you can commit to stay with us for 6 months or more, please apply!

You must have previous good experience talking with people in general (basic customer service skills), plus experience with children. We desire a good work ethic, reliability and good communication (phone calls, texts, emails etc.). You MUST genuinely care that our swim students learn and grow, don't just come for a paycheck by going through the motions. Its a fun environment with a great staff who are dedicated to water safety and skills. We're happy to have more join our crew!
