Job Description

Assist with planning and management of the Food and Beverage venues in concert with her/his peers as appropriate to achieve great customer satisfaction, quality service and compliance with company policies and procedures. Recommends promotional ideas and procedural changes, assists with budget preparation, forecasting, and implementation.

Essential Job Duties:

  • Manage the department staff in order to retain, and motivate employees; hire, schedule, train, develop, empower, coach, and counsel employees; conduct performance and salary reviews, resolve problems, provide open communications and recommend discipline and termination, as appropriate in coordination with the Human Resources Director and Food and Beverage Director. 
  • Monitors and control personnel and bar budget (labor costs, beverage costs, supplies, equipment, etc.).
  • Ensures supplies and equipment are secure and inventoried on a regular basis. Restocks items used daily. 
  • Ensures that the Food and Beverage venues are maintained in a sanitary state in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Closely monitors guest satisfaction, ensures the service of food and beverages in a timely manner, and resolves customer complaints.
  • Assists with implementation of creative strategies to increase revenues.
  • Assists with implementation of new policies and operating procedures, ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations to ensure optimal customer service. 
  • Performs in accordance with ABC Laws and Regulations and is responsible in securing alcoholic beverages after hours.
  • Reviews financial transactions and monitors budgets to ensure efficient operation, and to ensure expenditures stay within budget limitations in coordination with the Food & Beverage Director.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by Food & Beverage Manager.

Supervisory Responsibilities: 

  • Responsible for supervising restaurant, bar, and events staff, overall direction, coordination, and evaluation. Directly supervises bar, dining room, and event staff.

  • Computer skills including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook)

Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years in management level position in Food & Beverage area.

Education:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Two years of post-high school education with emphasis in related field, or equivalent relevant leadership experience in restaurant, hotel, private club or resort setting.

  • Must be able to reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping and use hands and fingers to handle, or feel.
