The purpose of this internship is to prepare college students for entry into the business world by providing a thorough understanding of the various functions of the Zebra Technologies organization. The program is designed to provide you with a full experience so that you can fully envision a career with Zebra. You will be positioned for success with training, exposure to all parts of the business, social activities, a professional mentor relationship and development sessions to help you discover your own performance edge!

This team is part of the core engineering for Mobile Computing. Developing core SW services empowering Zebra's mobile computers and SW solutions; including the delivery of new Android versions across the portfolio of HW platforms and devices.

This is intern role is a hybrid opportunity based in Holtsville, NY and will be working onsite a minimum of 3 days a week. Zebra does not offer relocation or housing budget.

Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a permanent basis without requiring sponsorship now or in the future

Responsibilities:

  • Develop planning, organizational and leadership skills

  • Increase technology knowledge and skills

  • Develop team-based work proficiencies

  • Develop interpersonal skills to connect with day-to-day business contacts through follow up activities

As a Summer Intern in the Mobile Computing team, you will be responsible for the following -

  • Voice AI / Voice Enablement project

  • Building Voice Enablement services Zebra and Customer applications.

  • Empowering Mobile computers and Zebra solutions with AI enabled voice.

  • Build intelligent framework to manage the audio interfaces between asynchronous systems.

  • Study advance use cases for enterprise assistant in the enterprise.

  • Build a cost optimized solution for AI assistant functions.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Current enrollment in an undergraduate degree program in Computer Engineering or Computer Science or graduate program in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or PhD in Computer Science/ Computer Engineering.

  • Must have an anticipated graduation date between May 2025 to Dec 2026 for undergraduates, or graduation dates between 2025 and 2027 for graduate students and for PhD students with graduation dates between 2025 and 2029.

  • Experience/ Prior internship in with programming languages and tools such as: Android, JavaScript, Node JS, Spring Boot, React, Angular, ADB

  • Knowledge of Databases

  • HTTP & REST

  • Must be authorized to work in the US without requiring sponsorship now or in the future

  • Must be able to work in the Holtsville, NY office a minimum of three days a week.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Studies in Artificial Intelligence (AI)

  • Knowledge of GCP cloud platform and services.

  • Source Control: Git / GitHub

  • Independent thinker and Self-started

  • Ability to break down complex problems into manageable tasks.

  • Ability to work in a team, including collaboration, code reviews, and knowledge sharing.

  • Ability to work with and understand complex systems will be highly desired.

  • Good communicator, self-motivated, and critical thinking skill.

Salary: USD 28.50 - USD 38.00 Hourly

Salary offered will vary depending on your location, job-related skills, knowledge, and experience.
