Job Description
Academic Advising and Support for Assigned Teams, to include, but not limited to:
- Maintain a current knowledge of the academic rules and procedures of the University, Conference, and the NCAA.
- Identify those student-athletes who fit into the academically high-risk category.
- Assist assigned student-athletes with course selection, goal fulfillment, and eligibility requirements; assist student-athletes in choosing a major(s) that best meet their career goals; maintain student-athlete academic/progress to degree files.
- Assist in monitoring the established study hall program and report students’ hours to coaches weekly. Complete weekly academic meeting notes to track the progress of high-risk student-athletes.
- Provide admissions assistance for assigned teams.
- This position provides supervision of two Assistant Directors.
- The position will provide instruction for at least one University Transitions course designed specifically for student-athletes each semester.
- Assist in the operational needs of the unit and lead the staff in times of the Director’s absence.
- Assist in completing reports for the university, conference, and the state Board of Governors.
