The Bechtler collection includes works by the most important and influential artists of the mid 20th century including Miró, Giacometti, Picasso, Calder, Hepworth, Nicholson, Warhol, Tinguely, Ernst, Le Corbusier, Chillida and many others. Only a handful of these wonderful artworks have been on public view in the United States. Until now, the collection was privately held by the Bechtler family of Switzerland.

Job Summary:     

Assist with all aspects of exhibition preparation, design, installation, and de-installation under the supervision of the Head of Collections and Exhibitions Management and in consultation with the Chief of Staff and Acting Curator.

General List of duties:

1.              Assist with the creation of layouts and mock-ups of all exhibitions in digital and other forms in coordination with the Head of Collections and Exhibitions Management and Acting Curator.

2.           Work with the Registrar, Creative Director, and Curator on the production of  interpretive content such as object texts, tombstone labels, and other graphics.

3.            Assist in managing exhibition records both digitally and in hard copy.

4.            Assist with adding relevant information to permanent collection object files in coordination with the Curator and Registrar.

5.              Assist with basic gallery maintenance and weekly gallery cleaning.

6.          Assist with inventory and maintenance of tools and equipment in workroom and submit supply orders when needed in consultation with the Registrar and the Facilities & Security Manager.

7.              Assist the Registrar with inventory and maintenance in collections storage as required

8.              Additional duties as directed.
